<p><strong>”Today there are only 3,200 tigers left in the world. </strong>The species is threatened by illegal hunting and tiger habitats are lost when forests are devastated. Cat helps cat, an initiative of <strong>Lantmännen Doggy </strong>and <strong>Tetra Pak</strong>, in favor of <strong>WWF.</strong> The goal is to Sweden&#8217;s 1.3 million cats along with ”matte” and ”husse” will make a great contribution to the endangered tigers worldwide.”.</p>

<p><strong>UPDATE: </strong>By February 6, the campaign has over 56.000 fans on the Facebookpage. 1 531 new tiger sponsors. SEK 14,150 collected by SMS and SEK 95,818 through the sale of Mjau Cat Food. That´s really great.</p>

<p><strong>Pilo Bold Me</strong> updated the logotype for <strong>Societetshuset</strong> in Marstrand last year. It was aimed to get a more of a rock ´n´ roll-feel to it. <strong>And now it´s living on in the summer of 2012.</strong> This time under the new management of the people, who to say the least, know how to run anything in the entertainment business. If you are familiar with <strong>Park Lane, Cabaret Lorensberg, Kajskjul 8</strong> and <strong>Grand Hotel Marstrand</strong> to name a few, you know what I mean.</p>
<p>All the rest of the design regarding Societetshuset this summer comes from the talented <a href="http://www.sph.nu" target="_blank">SPH Media.</a> Who I think is doing a really great job, whatever comes their way.</p>

<p>Friday May 18 and Saturday May 19 2012, it´s was time for a guest apperance at <a href="http://www.magnusmagnus.se/sv/lerougestockholm/" target="_blank">Magnus &amp; Magnus.</a> It is co-owner and chef <strong>Marco Baudone</strong> from <a href="http://www.lerouge.se/" target="_blank">Brasserie Le Rouge</a>, <a href="http://gruppf12.com/" target="_blank">Group F12</a> in Stockholm. Marco has been a finalist in &#8221;Årets kock&#8221; and won the established competition &#8221;Gyllene kniven&#8221;, a competition in cooking.</p>
<p>His companion at this special guest apperance will be <strong>Filip Fastén</strong>, last year named &#8221;Best future promise&#8221; and before its youngest participant in the &#8221;Årets kock&#8221;, on swedish TV 4 in&#8221; My Kitchen&#8221; for two seasons. <p><strong>You should feel so lucky when your client thinks visually.</strong> Pilo Bold Me has for the brand Doggy Professional produced a number of advertisements in the trade and consumer press. <strong>Using the international language without any words at all *.</strong> The goal was that the concept could be applied on dog food for agility-, hunting- and pet dogs. But also dog food for puppies.</p>
<p><strong>The client&#8217;s crystal clear goal was to create straight forward advertisements without fuss.</strong> No editorial photos or copy. Clear images of a wallpaper pattern with only packages of the dog food for each variety. We created an attentive campaign and the message is there and you can´t miss it.</p>
<p>What is the small text below the package all about? Well thats the link to the web site for <a href="http://www.doggyprofessional.se" target="_blank">Doggy Professional</a> (in swedish).</p>

<p><strong>The brand Katty cat litter have been around for some time now and the time was time to make it join the Mjau family.</strong> The main focus was to make three different designs to evolve into a new one. Even including the packaging itself. <strong>The client came to Pilo Bold Me with a fresh idea that we brought to life.</strong></p>
<p>The new design will send a friendly hat tip to the design used on both Mjau Tetra Recart with wet food and Mjau dry food. The cat litter comes in two different versions and once again<strong> different cats</strong> are the signal for each assortment. Including the color of the cat litter boxes.</p>

<p><a href="http://www.edithouse.se" target="_blank">Edithouse Film Works</a> produces films. <strong>Film is tremendously challenging, both when it comes to the ideas and the technology to make them come to life.</strong> Edithouse has been working in Gothenburg as it base with the whole world as their working field for over 15 years. The ambition is extremely high for the company employees, technology, and to be at the forefront in those fields. Whether it is huge productions with a large number of human and technical resources, or for smaller productions. It does not matter. <strong>Edithouse leaves no stones unturned.</strong> When Edithouse Film Works wanted a new site they choosed Pilo Bold Me. The new page should reflect the breadth of productions Edithouse Film Works are associated with.</p>

<p>It was especially fitting, given the <strong>15 years anniversary</strong> they had in 2011. For this anniversary, Pilo Bold Me also was asked to develop a special logo to emphasize this fact. <strong>The assignment was to naturally incorporate Edithouse round logo with the digit&#8217;s 15.</strong> Pilo once again put together his own <strong>Typographic Dream Team</strong> Mårten Fischer and Göran Söderström. Together, they have repeatedly cooperated successfully, including the fonts <strong>Pilo Regular</strong> and <strong>Pilo Thin.</strong><strong> </strong></p>

<p>Once upon a time there were two fonts named <strong>Pilo Regular</strong> and <strong>Pilo Thin.</strong> The first was born in 2007 and the second in 2008. When they got to grow a little, they landed at Veer and was received with open arms. <strong>Two star wannabees in the typographical skies.</strong> By now the two are living their own lives.</p>
<p>You may have read my findings where both these two fonts show up in different contexts around the world. It is almost a strange but <strong>magical, great feeling</strong> to see someone else&#8217;s work, when they used any of the fonts. They have been used in the <strong>iTunes Store</strong>, on a album cover, as a guest font in <a href="http://www.creativereview.co.uk" target="_blank"><strong>Creative Reviews</strong></a>, in <strong>Ryanair&#8217;s Magazine</strong>, in a typographic year calendar, in advertising campaigns and more. <p>Most recently, it was Pilo Thin receiving attention in the German <a href="http://www.slanted.de" target="_blank"><strong>Slanted</strong></a> #16 where the theme was Bold/Light. The magazine highlights typography in an artistic manner.</p>

<p>Pilo Regular also got its moment in the spotlight in the hands of the very talented <a href="http://josephnewton.com/minutes/comments/50_50_famine_relief_poster/" target="_blank"><strong>Joe Newton</strong></a> who on his website gives a very interesting explanation regarding his contribution to the poster portion of the 50/50 project. Where different designers are raising money for the famine relief in East Africa. <a href="http://posterity.themill.com/#2292630/SomaliaJoe-Newton" target="_blank"><strong>You can buy the poster here.</strong></a></p>
<p>When we created the fonts it never hit us that they would work extremely well together. Something that Veer themselves took on in this <a href="http://issuu.com/beniaminduca/docs/veerverycool" target="_blank"><strong>e-brochure</strong></a> (click on the image to scroll through it).</p>
<p><strong>FACTS:</strong><strong> Pilo Regular</strong> is created in a collaboration between <strong>Kenneth Pilo, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_Larabie" target="_blank">Ray Larabie</a></strong> (living and working in Japan), <a href="http://www.autodidakt.se" target="_blank"><strong>Göran Söderström</strong></a> and <strong>Mårten Fischer.</strong> The typeface is based on the logo of Bold, designed by <strong>Björn Höglund</strong> at <a href="http://www.cpbgroup.com" target="_blank">Crispin Porter + Bogusky Europe</a> for Pilo Bold Me, who also owns the font, sold by <a href="http://marketplace.veer.com/font/Pilo-Regular-UMT0000314?skeywords=Pilo&amp;stermids=100022585" target="_blank">Veer.</a></p>
<p><strong>Pilo Thin</strong> is created in a collaboration between <strong>Kenneth Pilo, Göran Söderström</strong> and <strong>Mårten Fischer.</strong> The typeface is owned by Pilo Bold Me, sold by <a href="http://marketplace.veer.com/font/Pilo-Thin-UMT0000356?skeywords=Pilo&amp;stermids=100022585" target="_blank">Veer.</a></p>
<p><strong>TRIVIA:</strong> Both typeface projects were handled entirely by mail. No meetings, Skype or chat. Two countries: Japan and Sweden. In the latter case also divided into three cities: Stockholm, Gothenburg and Karlskrona.</p>

From all over Sweden and students from other countries. Pilo Bold Me was asked to dust off a really old website to make it catch up to the present. So that applicants can get a quick, fresh and appealing overview of what the <a href="http://www.studentbostadiboras.com" target="_blank">Studentbostad i Borås</a> has to offer with its proximity to Borås Centre and the University.</p>
<p>This was the first time Pilo cooperated with web production agency <a href="http://www.simmalugnt.se" target="_blank">Simma lugnt,</a> which was  a really fresh pixel start. Which also resulted in a crispy new logo.</p>
